It is listed among Erie release resources because a qualifying registration duty can continue after release. It is not a detention facility and does not record every release. For a name result, match multiple displayed identifiers. Common names and moved addresses can produce mistakes when a reader relies on one field.
Geographic search answers which public registrations meet the selected area criteria at the time of the query. It does not establish that Erie County prosecuted the case, that Erie County Prison held the person, or that SCI Albion released the person. A registered person may have a case and custody history elsewhere. Save the query date and the registry's exact status wording.

If a custody or release document is needed, route the request to the office that created it. Erie County Corrections keeps the local prison episode. PA DOC keeps state prison and state parole records. Federal agencies keep federal custody records. The UJS docket supplies court context, but it does not turn a registry entry into a release timestamp.
Match Erie Registry Identities
Identity matching should use several non-sensitive public fields. A matching name alone is not enough. Compare middle name or initial, age or date information when displayed, photograph where authorized, and the registry's location details. Record the access time because a listed address or status can change.

The registry is a separate post-release system for the narrower registration duty.
A County release entry should show the local date, event type, authority, and destination where those fields exist. A PA DOC parolee result may show Release Date and current location. A registry result may show authorized public registration details. These records can relate to one person without proving the same fact.
The Erie County released inmate search routes named-person custody questions through the correct local, state, and federal systems. Use the registry only after determining that the registration question is relevant.
Erie Court and Registry Records
The UJS Web Portal can provide Erie Common Pleas or Magisterial District Court context, including charges, dispositions, sentence entries, bail, and later orders. Search the exact docket number where possible. A docket can become limited or unavailable through lawful expungement or limited access. Do not try to defeat those restrictions.

Erie County's operator distinction matters even on a registry page. The Pennsylvania State Police runs the registry. Erie County Corrections runs Erie County Prison. PA DOC runs SCI Albion and state parole field supervision. A person registered at an Erie address is not thereby held by Erie County or incarcerated in Erie County.

No Pennsylvania Registry Match
No match can mean the person is not in the public registry under the searched information, the search terms are wrong, the person is outside the geographic filter, or no public registration applies. It does not prove the person was never arrested, convicted, confined, released, or supervised. Only statutorily covered registrations belong in this system.
Recheck spelling and geographic criteria, then stop at the registry's scope. For a release question, go to the custodian. For a sentence or disposition question, go to the court. For current state parole, use PA DOC's parolee mode. This disciplined routing respects both the registry's purpose and the limits of public data.
After an Erie Registry Check
Save the exact result, search criteria, and access date. If the registry supplies a current correction or contact route, use that official process for an apparent error.
